I am currently an internal medicine resident working in Riverside County, California. I attended Western University for medical school and completed my undergraduate studies at UCLA, majoring in MCDB (Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology). While I am actively practicing medicine and educating my patients about their disease processes, my passion for teaching students has never diminished. Since high school, I have tutored many classmates in a variety of subjects including math, chemistry, biology, and physics. I was both the math and chemistry leader in high school, where I not only provided personal help but also organized discussion sections before exams to assist my classmates who struggled or wanted to improve.
The students and patients I have taught found me very helpful because I can empathize with their issues and work alongside them to solve their problems. I understand how students think. For example, if you are stuck in a hole, I will not just toss a rope to you; instead, I will jump into the hole with you and figure out a way to climb out together, collaboratively. I believe each student has their own unique way of understanding things. My job is to discover the most effective learning method for you, and I believe that is the essence of tutoring.
Today's internet is full of resources where one can quickly find answers to any question. However, the most important question for me is: Can I make you enjoy the learning process? Can I make learning so fun for you that you start to love it? Can I motivate you to reach your full potential and to be passionate about your growth while learning?
I grew up in a stereotypical Asian family where my mother is a doctor. For me, studying always felt like a "must" and a "duty," I was never the naturally talented A+ student or someone who could sit and study for hours on end. "How to enjoy the process" became my primary goal, and I have had great success with it. Let me share my experience with you and guide you on your way to success!

patient, intentional, personal

Explained three weeks worth of my college MCDB class in 90 minutes and made me understand everything. Used personal analogies relating it to my life circumstances making it very easy to make connections and understand concepts.

If I could give an infinite amount of stars I would

Ok maybe I’m exaggerating but if you’re looking for the divine being of patience then your search is over I was confused on one of the first steps of this one AP chemistry problem for an hour and he didn’t reveal the answer ONCE. Usually I would dislike the kind of teachers/tutors where you ask them for help on a question and they just restate it, but he used real life examples that made the learning process fun (he was not kidding when he wrote that in his description). I’m definitely not the brightest person out there, but after one session with him I actually felt so empowered and confident despite getting half the questions he asked me wrong (how does that make sense? I don’t know but he made it work). And even though his hours say until 12, we started at 10:15 and ended somewhere at 1am. He was so dedicated to building my understanding of the topics and didn’t feel like a total failure… more like I was laughing half the time because he made AP chemistry, my hardest subject—and probably for many others’ hardest subject—fun! Which is how learning should feel like.

Very knowledgeable and explains well

Kuang is very patient and knowledgeable with my daughter. My daughter takes chemistry honors and algebra 2 honors in her sophomore year. Kuang explains very well and detailed about each subject. My daughter feels more confident on both subjects now. He is a very good mentor and a tutor. He is very passionate and professional of his teachings.

Nice and patient teacher

He is a helpful teacher and explains very nicely and clearly and my son like it. I am very thankful that there is a tutor to help with very hard biology. He is a very good teacher.
