I experimented with my method while in Japan, and after one year my private student took the EIKEN Step test for Jr High, and only missed 2 questions on the written exam. Then she scored 100% on the oral exam. She did this at the age of 8 years old, and was awarded a certificate as number one for that test period. I was so proud of her! The following year she passed the High School exam, and was reading Harry Potter. I always take a fatherly pride in the success of my students!
I've always wanted to be a teacher, and took Applied Linguistics TESOL at the Master's level at university. While at university in Sydney, Australia on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship I helped my fellow students from Asia with their English studies, for free. I wanted to gain more knowledge into their needs as ESL students.
As a Rotary Scholar I had to give public speeches often, and prepared by becoming the number one student in my speech class. I even gave a speech to over 1000 people at the Sydney Olympic Park in 2000.
Along with these experiences I studied Teaching Techniques, Child Development, Humanities, Asian Studies, Cultural Anthropology, and Medicine. Thus, I have a wide area of knowledge to enhance my experience in teaching.
The most important part of ESL study is for a student to be able to communicate in English. My method is fast, and only takes 3 months to pass to the next level.
