Hi, my name is Lindsey, I am a 26 year old postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University. I am from Youngstown, OH, and moved to the bay area last year. I have a PhD in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University. I'm looking to tutor after school or on weekends.

During my time at Case, I took classes primarily associated with biomedical materials, instrumentation, and mathematical modeling of physiological systems. I was a teaching assistant for graduate and undergraduate mathematical modeling, neural engineering, and signals and systems courses. Additionally, I have 5+ years of research experience and have published several papers regarding transcriptomics and proteomic activity in the brain following injury. I just started my postdoc working on treatments for stroke patients. I got a 33 on my ACT, 4.0 GPA in high school. I went to Case Western Reserve University for my bachelors (3.9 GPA) and PhD (4.0 GPA).

I understand that my rate is high for a high school/college tutor, but I believe I can provide an advantage beyond typical coursework to students who are looking to go into STEM as a career. I'd be happy to help students evaluate different STEM colleges, seek out opportunities with local labs, teach fundamental coding in MATLAB/R, or discuss different career options in STEM.

I really enjoy my time working as a tutor and my hours are flexible! Please feel free to contact me if you need any assistance and I will be more than happy to work around your schedule.

MATLAB

MATLAB

I have spent my entire undergraduate career coding in Matlab, taking 4 matlab courses and using matlab both for my own personal projects (mostly GUIs and interactive games) and making Matlab code that analyzes data for the lab I work for on campus. I am experienced enough to help those new to technology discover what Matlab can do for them, and have a special interest in helping young females learn to code.

Excellent tutor and role model

Lindsey is an excellent tutor and role model for my teenage girls. She works with both of my 10th graders in geometry, chemistry, and physics. The results for both students are improved grades and more confidence.
