I have had the following tutoring and teaching experience in sequential order: private algebra tutor, TA for high school guitar, and undergraduate university TA for fundamental programming courses in Java. Throughout my different roles, I have preferred one-on-one tutoring sessions as I feel this is the most effective way of analyzing where a student is and how to best approach presenting concepts and ideas in a way that can be easily digestible. My role as a TA for Java programming spanned over two semesters, where I would hold tutoring sessions for students, proctor exams, and field questions after class. I have only tutored young adults and older (18+), with little experience tutoring younger students other than being a TA for a high school guitar class while I was attending the same school.
