I’ve recently graduated high school and will attend the University of California— Irvine in the fall of 2025. I’m a straight-As honors student with a strong interest in STEM and the arts. I love working with students of all ages, but my experience mostly lies with elementary school/ junior high level students. I have experience with volunteer tutoring online for reading, writing, and math, which is something I’ve done for about 3 years now. I’ve taught introductory music and reading in the classroom for elementary school students, too, for 1 year each. I’ve tutored high schoolers too, although it was mostly focused on high school math and science subjects. Most of the time, my groups are small, as I work better with one or two students at a time to focus on them.
I prefer to tutor online, and my hours are fairly flexible. My approach is to help you or your student come to understand the concept of the subject at its most fundamental level— this is especially key if they need to apply their knowledge to real-world contexts, which is often the case. I believe practice makes perfect, too, so I would supply my students with tons of practice problems. Different schools would cover material in slightly different ways or techniques, so I do ask that the student help supply their school materials, such as tests or homework, so that I understand what they need to do. I’m capable to teach your student the general material or targeted topics depending on your request.
In the past, I also booked tutors when I wanted to get ahead in class, especially if the class is fast-paced and intensive. I’ve gained a lot of insight and resources from my own tutors, and I hope I can share those with you.
