My goal as a classroom teacher and as a tutor is to help students think deeply about texts and translate those thoughts into well-constructed, effective written pieces and oral discussions/arguments. As a tutor, I use research-based strategies to help students access and master their reading, writing, and speaking assignments. For students at grade level, I can guide students to think through and complete their reading and writing homework more effectively, with a focus on digital tools, self-assessment, and confidence building. I can also work with student to achieve mastery in concepts and skills where they might be behind, or provide enrichment activities for students to excel beyond grade level.
