I completed a career in the military, prior to a second career in law enforcement. While in the military my primary job was as a deep sea diver. However, as a collateral duty and once as a temporary assignment, I was signed to the commands master at arms division (that is the commands police force). I also was awarded the highest medals for handgun and rifle shooting which are "expert pistol," and "expert rifle." During my military career, I obtained my qualification as a military instructor and was a basic deep sea diving instructor for 4 years.
While involved in my law enforcement career, I completed Southern Illinois Universities - Bachelor of Science course in Work Force Education and development. I achieved a 3.85 GPA which placed me on the Deans List. I then became an Adjunct Instructor at Mount San Jacinto College and taught Administration of Justice courses for about 6 years. I was also certified as a Firearms, Arrest and Control, Less Lethal Munitions, and Patrol Rifle Instructor which I instructed for over 10 years along with being a certified Field Training Officer (trains academy graduates to become competent, solo officers).
As a firearms instructor, I helped numerous law enforcement personnel correct and/or improve their shooting and tactical skills. Because I attended a law enforcement academy and taught Administration of Justice courses, I know what it takes to be successful and techniques to retain the material that is instructed.
During my 22 years in law enforcement, I have worked as a motorcycle officer, patrol officer, school resource officer, detective and watch commander.
