¡Hola! My name is Jennifer, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence and proficiency in Spanish. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), with emphases in Marketing and Organization & Management, as well as a minor in Spanish. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education and a teaching credential with a bilingual authorization. I have also successfully passed all Spanish CSET examinations, demonstrating subject-matter competency in Spanish.
I have approximately three and a half years of professional experience working with elementary-aged students in school settings. As an instructional aide at a dual-language school, I support students with language development, literacy, academic work, and classroom learning. I have experience working one-on-one, in small groups, and in whole-class settings. I have also worked with students with special needs in Special Day Class (SDC) settings, which has strengthened my ability to differentiate instruction and adapt lessons to individual learning needs.
I am currently completing my student teaching in a high school Spanish classroom, where I work with students on speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and cultural understanding. I use strategies such as modeling, visuals, guided practice, scaffolding, and collaborative activities to support students at different proficiency levels.
During high school, I also volunteered in an after-school program, helping students with homework and learning activities. As a tutor, I can support Spanish grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, pronunciation, conversation, homework, and test preparation. My goal is to provide patient, personalized instruction that helps students improve academically and feel confident using Spanish.
