Hello!
I have been tutoring students of all various age groups in both chemistry and math for more than 13 years and I absolutely love what I do! I received my undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine took a special interest in the topics presented in my high school chemistry course and ultimately decided to major in the discipline in college. I have tutored students in high school chemistry, honors chemistry, AP chemistry, university general chemistry series, Nursing Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. Throughout college, I have taken various chemistry courses: general, organic, thermochemistry, computational, biochemistry, etc. in addition to mathematic courses up multivariable calculus. Thus, I have the extensive knowledge to teach students both chemistry and math topics meticulously and help them excel in the course. At my university, I was part of the chemistry outreach program in which I was involved with performing demonstrations on chemistry laboratory experiments and speaking about chemistry applications, to engage the students taking in high school chemistry.
I know that there are several learning styles, and my own varies by each subject. Due to extensive tutoring experience, I am able to tailor the lessons to the most effective learning style for the student and present the material in a more comprehendible manner. The way my sessions work is that I teach the student the material they are struggling in and then I give them practice problems on the material I taught to ensure they fully understood my lesson. I also provide practice problems at the end of the lesson for the students to continue the expedition of their own learning process; repetition aids in mastering a topic. I offer a bridge between ideas and the application problems in which students taking chemistry, must tackle. My ultimate goal is to ensure my students fully understand the material I have taught, and give them the confidence in the subject they are studying, to excel.
