At Virginia Tech, classmates would regularly come to me when they were stuck, and those conversations became some of my favorite parts of college. There is something genuinely exciting about the moment a concept finally clicks for someone, and I found myself chasing that feeling often.
Math has always been something I love, and that enthusiasm is something I bring into every explanation. My approach is simple: figure out exactly where a student is stuck, rebuild from there with clear and patient explanations, and reinforce with practice until confidence follows. I adapt to each student rather than using a one-size-fits-all method.
For middle and high schoolers especially, I believe the right environment makes all the difference, one where no question feels too small and progress is always celebrated.
