Hello, My name is Krista. I have worked in Early Childhood for over 15 years. I received my Masters of Arts Teaching degree from Wichita State University in 2014. I am qualified to teach young children 0-5 and primary age children kindergarten through third grade. I also have training in teaching special education ages 0-8.
I enjoy tutoring because I really get to know the individual student and I am better at finding methods that work for them. Tutoring allows me to truly differentiate and individualize for my student. My sessioons are well paced.

I have worked in the districts that follow the common core. All of my lesson plans are built around the common core. All lessons include a common core component to give reason for the lesson that is taught.

I am skilled in teaching the foundations of reading from phonemic awareness to comprehension. I have used programs based on multi sensory approaches such as Orton Gillingham.

I am a specieal education teacher. I am familiar with the IEP process and working on individual goals.

I enjoy teaching it is what I do. While the goal is to teach and master a skill, believe in adding a little fun as well. Learning needs to include a little fun. It's my desire to make life long learners such as myself.
