I am a bilingual English and Spanish educator with a Bachelor's Degree in Business from National University and over 14 years of experience teaching Spanish at the high school level. My passion for language learning extends far beyond the classroom. I lived in Spain as a foreign exchange student and later spent five years living and working in Mexico as an adult. These experiences allowed me to develop native-level fluency, cultural understanding, and a deep appreciation for the diversity of the Spanish-speaking world.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked primarily with high school students in a classroom setting, teaching beginning through advanced Spanish courses. My goal has always been to create a supportive, engaging, and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, ask questions, and build confidence in their language abilities.
My teaching philosophy centers on communication and real-world application. I believe students learn best when they understand how the language is used in everyday life. I incorporate conversation practice, listening comprehension, vocabulary development, grammar instruction, cultural exploration, role-playing, and interactive activities that encourage students to actively use Spanish rather than simply memorize rules. I tailor my lessons to each student's learning style, pace, and goals.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have worked one-on-one with students, providing personalized instruction and support. Whether a student is learning Spanish for academic success, travel, professional development, or personal enrichment, I focus on building both language skills and confidence.
With more than 14 years of teaching experience, extensive international immersion, and a genuine love for helping others learn, I strive to make Spanish accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for every student.
