Experienced Chemistry and Math Teacher

My name is Kara-Leigh Helmrick and I work as a PreAP and AP Chemistry teacher in Los Banos, CA. I have 7 years of teaching experience: three in 8th grade math and four in high school chemistry. My personal philosophy on learning is that anyone can succeed as long as they have a growth mindset. I specialize in building relationships with my students and take pride in thorough explanations of topics.

My educational experience includes a BS in Chemistry from UC Riverside (2018) and a Master's in Chemistry Education from American College of Education (2026). I am credentialed by CTC to teach both math and chemistry and received my credentials through Teacher's College of San Joaquin.

I work very well in one-on-one and small group settings, using whiteboard or paper to illustrate concepts and provide examples.
