Georgia Tech (Electrical Engineeri)
As an engineering student, I took six years of undergraduate and graduate-level college math. Regarding content, my coursework covered the spectrum, covering trig, probability, calculus, linear algebra, and advanced engineering math. As an engineer for over 41 years, I programmed and tested highly complex mathematical algorithms.
I also had the opportunity to teach soldiers and other engineers, and I did get positive feedback from my students. Now that I am retired, I would like to expand my teaching experience by tutoring students.
When teaching, I try to break down the subject in a way that makes it easier for the student to understand, in a step-by-step manner, concentrating on the basics.
The area of electrical engineering that I have the most experience in deals with the communications between radios and computers. I understand how data is generated at one end, is transmitted via radio and networks, and then is received at the destination. This is a complex subject, and I can break it down for students.
Now that I have retired from industry, I would like to share my experience by tutoring students and adults who seek assistance. 10/10 recommended! Very helpful and patient! I've been working with him for months and he has helped me improved my grade!
We dicussed Limits in Calculus, Factoring from Algebra, Graphing from Pre-Calculus. He showed me the all the steps required in these processes which will benefit me by better understanding these processes and I will now be able to perform these functions.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have 6 years of college math. As for Algebra, I started studying it in the eighth grade. I studied advanced topics in college and graduate school.
My first year of calculus was in high school. Based on my advanced placement exam and exams administered by the Georgia Institute of Technology, I received advanced placement in college. I studied calculus and more advanced math for six years as an undergraduate and graduate engineering student. I have been tutoring math for about 1.5 years now, after retiring as an engineer.
I have many years of college math, including trigonometry.
I worked for 41 years in the aerospace industry where I used math heavily in my job.
