For the past two years, I have been a substitute teacher in High Schools and Elementary Schools in Contra Costa and Sonoma Counties. On my free time, I love to create visual art and crafts. I draw portraiture and make collages. Recently I finished an multi-media art journal of my memoirs including photography, drawing, painting, writing and design. I taught painting classes for six years when I owned a DIY studio and enjoyed teaching others how to create works of art.
I am a wordsmith! I love vocabulary and encourage my students to improve both vocabulary and grammar when writing. I am creative when writing and can help students come up with ideas for subject matter, structure and flow. I have written, essays, short stories, flash fiction, memoirs, and constructed speeches for public presentation. For my businesses I have written press releases, marketing material and blog posts.
I taught dance for 37 years, both in dance studio settings and in Fine Arts school settings. I hold both a BA in dance education and a MA in Dance Choreography. I have trained with several ballet instructors and took ballet pedagogy in graduate school from a dance master. I am particular about correct technique, safe training and am quite knowledgeable about anatomy and kinesiology.
I love to encourage others to learn and be creative. People think of me as a "Cheerleader of Life" because of my enthusiasm and positive attitude. I am the sort of person who sees the glass as "half-full" and instead of thinking, "It can't be done", I say, "Let's find a way to get it done"! I help my students to get things done and have fun along the way.
