Becoming a tutor has been one of the most important and impactful things I have ever done. My journey began long ago tutoring elementary school students from personal referrals and has taken me to today where I tutor college level English and statistics—privately as well as working for Diablo Valley College. I have completed a comprehensive training program from DVC, earning a certificate of achievement for completion of the intensive English tutoring program. I am currently an undergraduate English major with a finger firmly on the pulse of literature, critical thinking, and composition. Tutoring has lead me to my current goals, including becoming a college professor myself someday, and I will tutor as much as I can to give back while building critical experience in my field.
I want nothing more than to be what my tutees need, reinforce their skills, and develop the places that need improvement. I tutor with a model of empowerment, with the goal to tutor myself out of a job. I look forward to meeting my new students and can not wait to make a difference in your education.
I achieved the highest grade within two college level statistics courses, helped classmates with assignments whenever possible, and tutored two semesters of college level statistics—including one-on-one and group sessions.
