Hello there , I'm Thomas S., a 29 year old male with a true passion for chess, basketball, & drawing. I have been tutoring for 10 years now and I've had great success with my students , ranging from elementary school to college-age.

I began teaching and instructing basketball while I was still in high school. I myself went to college on a full scholarship for basketball and went on to play professional. I have worked with dozens of NBA players and hundreds of Division 1 collegiate athletes and top rated high school players. I was a head basketball skill development trainer at Mo Williams Acedamy from 2015 to 2018. During my time my time in Los Angeles I've trained with numerous NBA all-stars whose names I will not to mention for thier privacy.

I began tutoring by helping other students in around my school who wanted to become better at chess. I learned how to play chess at the age of 5 and by the time I'd got to high school I had already won numerous state & regional tournaments. I have competed in national tournaments . While at LSU I tutored other students on the game of chess from beginners to advanced. Since I have relocated to the Los Angeles I have continued to tutor chess to kids all the way up to adults.

I prefer one-on-one tutoring and enjoy engaging my students with fun and challenging situation so that they grow and become more confident in their skill. I like to apply chess to world situations to allow my students to fully understand the relevance and necessity of knowing and using your chess skill to navigate in their everyday lives.
