Hi, my name is Jerry B. I am a Professional Math Tutor with The Math Yogis and a graduate from USC with a Physics(BS), a Theatre-Acting Emphasis(BA), and a minor in Cinematic Arts/Filmmaking. I am very happy to work with you and help you understand the beautiful world through around us. I love to help people explore both the world of physics, math, and simply discovering the magic of our universe and of life.

I have taken and passed all of elementary, middle, and high school mathematics and as a Physics major I have taken precalculus, Calculus I, II, and III (Vector Calculus) as well as Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Partial Differential Equations. I attained a 710 on the SAT Math section. I feel qualified in these areas as I continually use them throughout physics work.

I would also be happy to work with you in Physics 1, 2, and 3, Advanced Classical Mechanics, Introduction to Quantum Mechanics, General Relativity (Einstein's Theory of Gravity), Advanced Electromagnetic Theory as well as advanced experimental methods.

I have been tutoring students for around 11 years. In that time I have often been complimented on my patience and ability to explain concepts in a much simpler way.

I would also love to work with you in computers(Mac and Windows, or basic hardware), Microsoft Office/Google Suite Products, or gaming(both computer(pc) and console including installing mods, shaders, and data packs for Minecraft Java Edition, or other on my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEViNU9x4jmVk2cRHXL7EMQ. I would also be interested in helping you with the basics of hosting a server for minecraft.

I am very much looking forward to working with you and joining you on a journey to learn and explore. As I like to say, anything in life that's worth your time isn't easy. So remember, don't worry, everyone learns and discovers at their own pace and in their own way, but "If you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything"-Back to the Future.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I was a year ahead in math taking the course, and as a physics major, I have continually used these skills since then. I have tutored students in this material on a more personal level. Having passed the class with an A at the time, alongside my other classes I maintained a 4.0 grade point average. I have also tutored college students on the material indirectly in physics and other math courses as an Official tutor and employee of the University of Southern California.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I took the honors/advanced version of this class at my high school a year ahead of the standard. Algebra 2 and trigonometry is another field of math that I continually use throughout physics and help other students with as an Official USC tutor. I attained an A- in the course, overall holding a 4.0 at the time.
Calculus

Calculus

I had taken AP Calculus AB(which is akin to Calculus I) and ended up taking a CLEP exam instead of an AP exam. The CLEP is simply a test that can be taken at more times after high school that is also prepared by the College Board; I passed the exam with about a 93% and went directly into Calculus 2 in college. I attained an A+ in both Calculus 2 and Calculus 3 and a B+ in Differential Equations(Calculus 4) and I got an A in Partial Differential Equations. I am also approved as an official USC tutor for Calculus 1, 2 and 3. I kept a 4.0 that year.
Computer Gaming

Computer Gaming

I have many years of experience in gaming across various platforms/consoles such as PC, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Xbox One, Play Station 4. I also have experience with platforms such as Steam. I by far know the most about Minecraft in its various forms across platforms such as the java and bedrock editions and know a lot the versions prior such as the independent console editions, the pocket, edition, and the historical development of the game. I currently host two Minecraft servers from scratch on linux, I know a lot about minecraft modding and playing on servers. I am not the best at helping with first person shooter games such as Call of Duty, Halo, or CSGO. I know a lot about classic minecraft mods, properties of the game, as well as the navigation of the code structure of minecraft. I host a youtube channel called Jerrrbear333 and play various games from Skyrim, to Fallout, Minecraft(obviously), Garry's Mod, ARK survival, Warframe, Scrap Mechanic, Jurassic World Evolution, Super Mario Brothers, MarioKart, the OLD Lego adventure games, Minecraft Mods(New and Old, installation and playing on), Forza 6, and a little of X-Plane 11. I also know a fair amount about GTA V and GTA San Andreas. I love to play various old Wii games such as those listed, Wii Sports Resort, Wipeout, and old DS games including some Zelda, Mario Party and other older mario games. I have helped friends and others on a personal level as well as played a lot with them over the years of play life. But by far, I know the most about minecraft in its many forms(including character skin design as it wasn't mentioned before) and know a lot about playing the game and certain details that help gameplay. I know the game very well across platforms, mods, and history. I very much look forward to working or should I say playing games with you.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

As a physics major, I of course continue to use the foundational mathematics I learned in Elementary school regularly. I have worked with students on a private basis to teach Elementary math. I have often been told that I have a better means of explaining concepts in a more foundational and simple means that is appreciated.
Film

Film

I am an actor, writer, director and recent graduate from USC with a degree in Theatre(BA)-Acting Emphasis and a minor in Cinematic Arts/Filmmaking. I am and independent filmmaker connected with a production company known as Some Dude Productions on Youtube.
General Computer

General Computer

My exposure to computers has been consistent and continuous in development throughout my life from the beginning. I have knowledge across the operating systems of Mac OSX, Microsoft Windows 7, 10, and Vista as well as a bit in linux desktop. I currently run two Minecraft(PC Open World Game) servers on the same computer one of which is modded. These servers are run from scratch and one of them runs on docker(a virtual device engine). I know a bit about the functionality and structure of hardware of computers as I maintain the server pc changing parts as well as noting necessary upgrades. I know the functionality of the different components of a computer's hardware as well as the basic structure of software and organization in different operating systems. I also know my way around Google Suite and Microsoft office and general navigation of a computer. I am also quite knowledgable on the internet, various social media platforms, and know youtube pretty well. I have tutored people on a personal level in the navigation of computers as well as the basics of server hosting and downloading mods to Minecraft. I have tutored my fair share of people in internet navigation, general computer navigation, and Microsoft and Google. As a physics major I am also quite interested in studying quantum computers and different quantum algorithms. I also use mathematica a little bit in my work. I look forward to working with you and helping you explore the endless and beautiful possibilities of computers.
Macintosh

Macintosh

I have been a proud owner of Macbook air and Pro for 10+ years and know my way around the Mac OSX system pretty well. I enjoy the various conveniences, security, and organized structure of the mac operating system. I have a bit of experience with general use and navigation on the OS as well as a range of basic and useful commands such as those to clear inactive memory and navigation to disable the System Integrity Protocol. As a gamer, I know a bit about the general installation and folder structure and how to install mods for games such as Minecraft. I am an avid user of the Steam Platform. I about various file types and what types of programs are more functional with a Mac as well as limitations in using certain windows structure programs such as .win and .exe files. I know about using .zip, .jar, .pdf, .heic, .png, .mp4, .mp4a, .mp3, .pptx, .jpeg, .jpg, .docx and more. I know how to use all the standard apple programs, connecting with other apple products, using quick time player, preview, keynote and all other apple items. I know how to use the app store, perform general computer maintenance(software wise). I have also tutored various people on a personal level in the use and navigation of all of these various systems, programs, and protocols. I look forward to working with you to explore what arguably think is the best operating system.
Physics

Physics

I took AP Physics in High School and passed the class with an A. I unfortunately forgot to sign up for the AP test and do not have a score to report. In Principles of Physics 1 I got an A, in Advanced Principles of Physics 2 I got an A, in Advanced Principles of Physics 3 I received an A-, and an A in Advanced Classical Mechanics. I suspect to received at least a B+ in my Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity classes this semester. I am of course a junior studying Physics(BS) at the University of Southern California and I am an Official Tutor for the Physics department here at USC. I have worked with students on Physics 1 and 2, being Newtonian mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism mostly. I have been told by students that I have a better method of explaining concepts that allow them to make more sense than other physics tutors that they have had.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

As a Physics major, I still continually use Prealgebra on a day to day basis attaining A+'s when I took the two courses in middle school. I was also a tutor serving students of my middle school and worked with them to help them understand the central concepts of prealgebra in order to prepare for Algebra even whilst I was taking the classes at the time myself. I worked alongside my teachers at officially arranged tutoring sessions and events.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Of all the mathematics courses, this material is some of the stuff I use almost all the time in my physics courses. The many trigonometric relationships and important foundations of Algebra learned in this class are a large part of calculus above calculus 1. As an Official Tutor of the Physics and Mathematics departments at USC, this is the material I find students coming to me needing help with the most. This includes people in Calculus 1, 2, 3 and others. I find that relaying certain tricks and approaches that I have learned has been of the most help to students.
SAT Math

SAT Math

In my taking of the SAT I attained a 710 out of 800 on the Math score. As a physics major, I have taken all of the math on the SAT and quite a bit more afterwards. I have attained only A's in Elementary and Middle School Math (Prealgebra), and A's in Advanced Algebra 1 and 2 as well as in Trigonometry and Honors Geometry. I attained A+'s in Calculus 1, 2 and 3 (Vector Calculus), and a B in Linear Algebra/Differential Equations, and an A in Partial Differential Equations. I am very much looking forward to working with you and help you nail that SAT math section. I also have experience working with people in the various subjects above as a Wyzant tutor, a high school tutor, and an official tutor of the University of Southern California math and Physics Departments.
Theater

Theater

I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Arts in Theatre with and Emphasis in Acting from the University of Souther California School of Dramatic Arts.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Trigonometry might also be one of the things I use the most in Physics. The many trigonometric relationships and important foundations of Algebra learned in this class are a large part of calculus above calculus 1. As an Official Tutor of the Physics and Mathematics departments at USC. Studying trigonometry has a lot to do with understanding perspective, which I do extensively in physics. Distinguishing whether an angle can be assumed to be a right. angle vs having to use the laws of sines and cosines make a large difference. I have studied this material through many different classes such as Honors Geometry that I attained an A+ in, Honors Algebra 2 that I attained an A- in, and Honors Precalculus that I attained a B+ in. I have also used in in Physics 1(Newtonian Mechanics) w/calc(Grade:A) , Physics 2(E+M) w/calc(Grade:A), Basics of Quantum Mechanics(Grade:A-), Classical Mechanics(Lagrangian and Hamiltonian)(Grade: A), General Relativity(Grade: A-), and Quantum Mechanics(Grade: B). I would love to work with you and help you understand the beauty of how many places there truly are where triangles simply things.
