I am currently a second-year History Major at UC Merced. I am planning on being a history teacher after my bachelor's and obtaining my master's degree. I also have some tutoring experience at my high school which involved tutoring elementary students that were in 1st and 3rd grade. At that time I was tutoring about two students that lasted for about 6 months. I love tutoring as it allows me to help students develop their skills, refine their skills while establishing a strong work ethic. In high school I was required to teach a class and formulate a lesson plan about a topic I was passionate about which was gentrification, I then presented in front of a panel of judges and passed with flying colors. I am a first-generation college student, so I can also provide some insight on achieving higher education.
As a second-year history major, I have taken courses such as Political Science, History, American History, and Government at a University level and have passed them with A's as I currently have a 3.8 GPA. I am very passionate about history specifically but I also understand the other topics enough to help others get a better understanding on these subjects.
