My favorite teachers in school were fun, patient & knowledgeable; always creating an environment where I felt safe and comfortable enough to comprehend the subject matter. These teachers were always able to take something that seemed complicated on the surface and break it down into easily understood parts.
This is at the heart of my tutoring philosophy. Whether it’s performing a guitar part they’ve been studying, expressing themselves through writing a song, or understanding chord inversions on the piano, I’ve had the joyful privilege through my experience in teaching over the last several years of seeing student after student confidently comprehend their music studies and move in the direction of realizing their potential.
Whether working in groups or with individual students my aim is to always be as helpful as possible in helping students to define and achieve their goals!
I also bring to my students the experiences of the wonderful opportunities I’ve had traveling the world playing music as well as participating in a variety of musical experiences from touring with bands, being a session guitarist & singer, a producer. a recording artist, and even writing music for a theater production of Orwell’s 1984!
It is my goal that all these things combined will make for the most helpful tutoring experience for my students! I’m easily reachable and respond quickly and am always open to ways that I can be the best resource for my students!
