Bio

I'm a 27-year-old, highly and widely experienced professional tutor with extensive expertise in journalism, reading, writing, photography, the French language and all core curriculum subjects from pre-school through university level (even basketball). I have worked with younger students for years to help them visualize a problem in a new light and think critically about the task at hand. Helping students think critically, creatively and openly is a specialty of mine, and I'm looking forward to sharing my experience of excelling in school grade by grade, assignment by assignment.

Throughout high school, I tutored middle school students in math two days a week and dealt with a variety of new methods adapted from the methodology on which I grew up. I also consistently worked closely with my brother, until he graduated from high school in 2024, to understand his curriculum and adopt innovative strategies to complete his works smoothly and efficiently.

I have a Bachelor's degree in French Language Studies and a certification of French fluency from Université de Nice - Sophie-Antipolis. I have been studying the French language since the 2nd grade and have built a rich portfolio of connections and experiences with the French people and culture during my stay in Nice, France from January to May 2019.

photograph Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras along with Canon and film cameras for nearly five years. I was trained by Jon Sham, expert photographer and Media Director for Lockheed Martin, at the University of Maryland. I've taken thousands of photos across the globe throughout my travels to Europe, Canada and across the United States.

Additionally, from entry-level to an advanced caliber, I greatly improve basketball skillsets and sculpt lessons around each young baller's unique play style.

Basketball

Basketball

I've been playing basketball for 17 years, working my way up through local and travel leagues and continuing to play recreationally every week. Because of my height and wiry build, I quickly developed my outside shot and finesse to get to the basket. Now, I work tirelessly to improve my handle and perform post moves gracefully. I've compiled my favorite drills to pinpoint dribbling, shooting and passing proficiency to focus on fundamentals.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I started tutoring in high school when I would volunteer my time with middle and elementary school students to help them with math homework and general comprehension. Once I graduated and went to college, I became a chess tutor for a boy in Washington, D.C., and slowly began helping him in all subjects where he had questions. I have also consistently mentored my brother, who is now 15, with his schoolwork.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

8+ years of tutoring elementary, middle and high school math. I have been working directly with my 17-year old brother for years to assist him with his schoolwork and understand how concepts are being taught and how they are evolving. I have also been tutoring 9-year old twins since January 2021 in reading, writing and math.
French

French

I have studied French for 15 years from the 2nd grade on. I spent the first six months of 2019 in Nice to become fluent in French, master conversation with natives and further understand their culture. Now, I continue to sharpen my skills by reading, having phone calls with native French friends and writing in French.
Photography

Photography

While working towards my bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism at the University of Maryland, I was trained in photojournalism by Jon Sham, expert photographer and media director at Lockheed Martin. I learned valuable techniques like motion blur, long exposure and keeping the rule of thirds in mind. Upon completion of his course, I studied in Nice, France for four months and further sharpened my photography skills. Now, I have a portfolio showcasing my work in diverse settings and a job as a real estate photographer out in Los Angeles.
Track & Field

Track & Field

I ran track and field for six years from 7th-12th grade, progressing from the 2-mile to the mile and then dabbling in the 800m / 400m. As a cross-country runner, I enjoyed long-distance events but had no trouble dropping down to middle distance / longer sprint events. Here are my PRs: Mile - 4:45, 800m - 2:04, 400m - 56.9 sec. I'm happy to work with any level of runner from the middle to long-distance events.

Patient and creative...addressing the individual needs of my twins!

Connor has been wonderful with the twins. Patient and creative. Dealing with a very active 7 yr. old. Even tosses the ball with him to break the time up and make him more cooperative.

our savior during pandemic

It’s surprisingly hard to find teachers during this pandemic. Connor answered the call, and my kindergarten level son is well on his way to being able to correctly identify letters of the alphabet. Connor teaches twice a week, is on time and is willing to visit the child while most other teachers insist on skye calls.
