I love working with kids and watching them grasp a concept and then apply it. I'm a voracious reader and writer myself so I enjoy it when they begin to love English and literature.
I am an award-winning playwright and member of the Dramatists Guild and Screen Actors Guild. I have been acting and writing since I was in grade school and have a minor in theater from Miami Of Ohio as well as graduating from the LaJolla Playhouse Conservatory under the tutelage of Tony winner Des McAnuf. I'm part of two theatre companies in Los Angeles (Ensemble Studio Theatre and Antaeus where I belong to their playwriting labs and I teach a workshop for writers at The Yard Theatre. I've won writing fellowships and residencies for my writing and have been nominated for my theatre directing work. I've worked as a TA for an acting school as well.
Each child is different and has different needs. My focus is to help the student excel in their studies. While different methods work for different students, I try to pique their curiosity so I can help them retain information and look forward to learning more.
