Bio

As Wyzant's only LSAT tutor with a 180 score and pro writing experience, my students gain up to +35 LSAT points (65% percentile gains) thanks to my caring, supportive, whatever-you-need-I'll do approach. Many students come to me after group classes, video courses, and even other tutors have failed them. No one is an LSAT robot, and I get that. I do everything I can to make our sessions approachable, productive, and--dare I say--fun.

For the many students who come to me after struggles with past instruction, I'm proud to be their final stop. Unlike most tutors, my commitment to you extends beyond our lesson time. I am here for you 7 days a week, for your texts, calls, emails, and even jokes (seriously--I love forming that kind of rapport with my students). Whatever concerns you may have, no matter how silly they may seem, I want you to feel comfortable asking.

I had to work my way to LSAT success, from the 150s to a 172 to a perfect 180, so I know the stress that comes with the territory. I also have a wide range of strategies and techniques to draw from, along with ten years' experience teaching standardized tests. Whatever your challenges may be, we'll be able to solve them.

Additionally, my professional writing experience allows me to serve double duty as an essay advisor. My background writing for both television and major political campaigns has taught me how to master the personal essay using technique, emotion, and concision. I've been paid over six figures for my writing, which makes me a Wyzant contributor you won't find anywhere else.

Whether you're ready to dive in, or would like a free consultation first, please reach out. My favorite day of tutoring is the one when my client calls back with an admissions letter, or even better, a scholarship. But for that day to happen, I need to hear from you first :)

I’m a professional screenwriter, and one of the few on Wyzant with top tier credits. I've written television episodes for Netflix, and graduated from USC's #1 ranked film program. I’ve worked with premier writers, including Golden Globe and Emmy nominees, and have been paid over six figures for my writing. I'm also a member of the Animation Guild. I love working with students and passing on my expertise. Please reach out if you're looking for help improving your writing!

My essays have led to acceptances from prestigious schools like Duke, UCLA, USC, U Michigan, U Wisconsin, Emory University, Vanderbilt, and more, both in undergrad and graduate programs. When I’m not consulting on essays, I am an award winning professional writer with several screen credits to my name, as well as experience serving as a policy director in charge of a national U.S. congressional campaign, for which I wrote nearly one hundred speeches and policy papers. My work in both the policy and dramatic realms has led me to build a unique skill set that combines emotion, concision, and technique: the exact blend of traits that admissions committees are looking for. Writing is present in my every day work, not just as a tutor, but as a working professional. Highly skilled tutor

I had such an amazing experience with Mitchell. Before I started working with him I had taken a popular LSAT live online prep course and then purchased the tutoring package with the same company. I didn't see much success though because all my tutor was doing was asking me to come to him with problems on specific questions I got wrong. I wasn't getting the instruction on the processes that I needed in order to answer every question successfully. All that changed when I started working with Mitchell. He broke everything down for me and taught me how to approach each question type and each section of the LSAT. With Mitchell I learned the process and so it got to the point where I could answer any question right as long as I stuck to the process he taught me. Our sessions were organized and deliberate. He put together a study calendar for me and tailored lessons to my specific needs. He also worked extensively with me on timing strategies. My weakest section was LG and I never thought I was going to do well on it until Mitchell taught me his method. In fact, I unlearned the way I was taught previously to do games and started doing it the way he taught me and went from -10 to -2 on games in a very short time. So much of this test is about getting into the right habits so you can excel under timed conditions and that is what Mitchell taught me to do. During our sessions he would watch me do games under timed conditions and he would catch when I was defaulting to bad habits. He would point them out to me afterwards. This method of his is helpful because I didn't even realize I was defaulting to bad habits sometimes. Mitchell is observant and he has the ability to figure out what you are doing wrong under timed conditions and then he gives you the tools to fix them. He was always available to answer questions and responded to text messages in less than 24 hours. With Mitchell I was able to increase my score five points after a few sessions. Because I worked full time he gave me a workload that was efficient and specific to my needs. He knows how to teach effectively so that you make the best use of your time. Mitchell is also a wonderful person who was genuinely invested in seeing me succeed. I feel fortunate to have worked with him and I would recommend him to anyone. I think anyone who tries a session with him will see right away the value in working with him.

Review for Mitchell G.

Mitchell and I worked together leading up to my second attempt at the LSAT. With his help, I was able to jump from the 55th percentile to the 74th as well as gain acceptance and great scholarship money to a number of NYC area schools, finally settling on Brooklyn Law with a $40k conditional annual scholarship. Mitchell is an awesome communicator, he knows just how to simplify complex problems and dictate solutions in a clear and concise manner. One of my favorite parts about working with Mitchell is his ability to work your interests into problem-solving. Somehow, someway Mitchell always found a way to explain problems within the frame of baseball to help me understand what needed to be done. I enjoyed working with Mitchell so much that I passed him along to my sister for her SAT prep. I highly recommend GoldenLSAT!

Phenomenal LSAT Tutor

Put simply, Mitchell is a phenomenal tutor. After working with him for only a month, my score jumped 7 points. One of his best attributes is his ability to explain a concept in a variety of different ways. I love the fact that he gives a comprehensive report of what we covered after the lesson, and what I should focus on for the upcoming week. Additionally, Mitchell was very easy to work with and I looked forward to each of our sessions. Because of his help, I received significant scholarships from various law schools. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to increase their LSAT score in a short time-frame, and have fun while doing so.

Great Consultant for Film School

My son wants to go to film school at an elite university with a top program. Mitchel knows what is required to get accepted to these difficult programs and helping my son achieve this goal. He is helping my son develop a portfolio, and write a personal statement that will get him accepted. I highly recommend Mitchell as a consultant and tutor to help students position themselves to get accepted into colleges, which are very selective.

Mitchell is exactly what I was looking for in a tutor. Patient with a proven method of teaching that has already given me a confidence that was missing during my prior Kaplan course. I’m a excited to study again and can’t wait to see the levels of progression as we continue to work together!

So far so good

Mitchell effectively taught how to approach and dissect LG. He patiently answered questions and had no problem going over the time due to some technical difficulties.

great LSAT tutor

Mitchell was very patient, explained things clearly, and helped me craft a self-study plan, all in my first LSAT session. I'm definitely planning on continuing our LSAT prep work together.
