I am a Senior at Cornell in the College of Arts and Sciences. I study both Classics and Chemistry. I am looking to tutor in Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Latin/Greek. I have been tutoring and teaching for the past three years at school from middle school students to the college level. I have tutored and taught many individuals all of whom have achieved their goals for the class. I have a good amount of resources in regards to these subjects such as practice tests and extra problem sets. In my experience, I often find it better for the student to actually learn the concept/logic rather than just being able to regurgitate it. I am very flexible to schedule and very responsive. Throughout both my years in High School and in College, I have always been the point person when assisting my peers. My Chemistry Professors will often ask me to work one on one with particular students. I find in these situations best to determine the overall learning obstacles and then to tackle the logic/material head-on.
I have taken both General Chemistry (full year) and Organic Chemistry (full year). I received A's in all four classes. I am particular a tune with Organic Chemistry. I have also worked in an Organic Chemistry lab for 6 months.
I have taken multiple Latin courses at the University and High School Level. I have received A's in all my Latin classes at Cornell such as Introductory courses and rapid reading seminars. I am comfortable with either prose or poetry. I have read works such as Virgil's Aeneid, Ovid's Metamorphoses as well as Caesar's Gallic War.
I have also taken multiple Attic Greek courses in which I have received A's. Both at the Introductory level and the rapid reading level. I have read a variety of works such as Plato's Crito, Homer's Odyssey, and Illiad, as well as Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics. Please, refer above for qualifications regarding Latin.
I am promptly available to answer quick questions, assist with homework/problem sets, prepare for exams, review material, or teach
