My name is Renee H.! I am currently a retired elementary school teacher of 20 years. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. Prior to teaching, I began an early interest in working with students during my 14 years of working at Northrop Grumman. There I had the opportunity to work as a Junior Achievement counselor. During that time I worked with students to support their creative knowledge in the area of solar energy where students created gadgets that operated solely on solar energy. Years later, I started a Family daycare service year round which serviced 14 students. During this time I realized the joy of working with students in the area of homework study skills, educational field trips, and much more. After 6 years I was fully convinced that I was interested in furthering a career in elementary teaching. My goal was and is still to help students grow to love learning new things successfully. As an elementary school teacher I was committed to making sure students not only learned the district's curriculum but had fun doing so. My students soared daily and enjoyed coming to school to learn. My teaching methods were always evolving and tailored to the individual learning needs of the students.
My goal as a tutor is to use my teaching background to benefit the students the opportunity to gain the necessary confidence and experience they need to become successful in school and beyond.

Most of my elementary career is working with students in Kindergarten and Third grade. During these grades students are focusing on reading on grade level. I mainly taught students reading and grammar while teaching and reinforcing letters and sounds as well as understanding grammar and how it is used in speaking and writing.
