Professionally:
Hello! My name is Andrew and I'm an experienced tutor and a recent college graduate from the University of California Santa Barbara with a major in math. I am very accomplished academically but I am also SUPER social and passionate for all mathematics making me the b e s t tutor you will ever have! I was also a Supplemental Instruction Leader (SIL) in college and have been professionally trained to meet the needs of students who are having difficulties in hard classes. I have learned to be patient and accept that everyone learns at different speeds with different methods, but hard work will always pay off.

Personally:
I am NOT just a tutor. I’m the kind of person who loves diving headfirst into stuff I know nothing about—whether it’s tinkering with cars, taking apart random gadgets just to see how they work, or creating websites. I’ve got a 10-month-old bernedoodle who is a walking ball of energy and personality, and I’m completely obsessed with her. I love music festivals and raves and go to most of the insomniac events with my friends and my wife! I play chess casually but manage to hold around 1500 ELO, and I’m hardstuck Plat in League. I make friends with basically every student I tutor, so hmu!

ACT Math

ACT Math

I specialize in ACT prep with a strong focus on helping students master the math section, including key topics like exponent rules, the power rule, Pythagorean triples, and angle relationships such as alternate interior angles. I not only teach the material but also show students how to recognize common question patterns and apply time-saving strategies. Having compared the ACT and SAT in depth, I guide students toward the test that best fits their strengths and learning style. My approach is strategic, results-driven, and designed to boost both confidence and scores.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra is one of my favorite subjects to teach because it’s the foundation for so much of higher-level math. I’m great at helping students understand the “why” behind the rules—whether it’s solving equations, factoring, or working with functions. I’ve had a lot of success helping students build confidence and move from confusion to clarity. My approach is patient, flexible, and always focused on making the material click.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Calculus

Calculus

I have a strong foundation in calculus and a passion for breaking down complex concepts in ways that actually make sense. Whether it’s derivatives, integrals, or limits, I focus on helping students build real intuition instead of just memorizing formulas. I’ve worked with students at all levels and know how to adapt my teaching style to fit different learning needs. My goal is to make calculus not just manageable, but genuinely interesting.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I have tutored many kids at the elementary level, I understand how hard it can be when you fall behind and make math fun and easy for kids to understand. I also have an extensive knowledge of the subject.

Geometry

Geometry

I have privately tutored math for students of all ages and all subjects! I was an SIL (supplemental instruction leader) in college and I would host my own class before the actual class. Everyone that attended my class regularly passed with a B or higher! I have a great fundamental understanding of algebra and am charismatic and passionate which makes for great tutoring!!

SAT Math

SAT Math

I've helped students master the SAT Math section by breaking complex problems into simple, repeatable strategies. I teach both calculator and no-calculator sections with a focus on timing, accuracy, and mental math. From linear equations to advanced functions, I give students the tools and confidence they need to boost their scores. Whether you're starting from scratch or pushing for a perfect 800, I’ll meet you where you are and guide you every step of the way.
Statistics

Statistics

I’m passionate about teaching statistics because it’s all about making sense of data in a way that’s practical and relevant. I help students grasp key concepts like probability, distributions, and hypothesis testing by breaking them down into simple, relatable terms. Whether you’re new to stats or looking to sharpen your skills, I focus on building confidence through clear explanations and real-world examples. My goal is to make statistics feel useful and understandable, not just a bunch of numbers.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Trigonometry can seem intimidating at first, but I enjoy showing students how it all connects—whether it’s unit circles, identities, or real-world applications. I focus on building a clear, visual understanding of the concepts so students don’t just memorize formulas, but actually understand how and why they work. I’ve helped many students move from frustration to confidence by breaking things down step by step. My goal is always to make trig feel approachable and even fun.

Got an A

Hired Andrew to study for my Trig test only one day in advance. One two hour lesson and I got an A on it

Armen, 1 lesson with Andrew

great tutor

Andrew is a great tutor and prepared my son for success on his Algebra 2 test. We will definitely work with him again. He is smart, young and fun and was much more relatable to my high school aged teen than his previous tutor -- I would highly recommend working with him.

Patient & Knowledgeable

Andrew got right into the work with my son’s geometry. He made a practice test and asks questions to make sure he really gets it. My son is quiet and reserved but with only 2 in person sessions, we feel comfortable and confident that Andrew is helping make a difference in my son’s future.

Amazing Resource

My daughter was really struggling with AP Calculus For the first time all year she felt confident in her understanding after 2 hours with Andrew. Will be using him again as an ongoing basis to prepare for her AP exams. Couldn’t recommend better.
