Hi! I’m a Ph.D. biologist and veteran AP Biology teacher, and I help students truly understand biology - not just memorize it.
I’ve spent over 20 years teaching AP Biology at a top independent high school, as well as introductory biology, physiology, and zoology at the college level (UCLA & Cornell). I’ve worked with thousands of students - every personality, every learning style, every confidence level - and helped them succeed in biology.
I tutor all high school and intro-college biology courses, including AP/IB/Honors/regular - and I also help students with scientific writing, lab reports, research projects, and data analysis. I can also support students in grades 6-10 in general science, chemistry, and physics foundations, and I have also worked with students studying biology for the MCAT.
Why students and families like working with me:
I’m a current classroom teacher, so I know the curriculum, the pacing, and how teachers think and grade.
I’m extremely patient, upbeat, and encouraging - students actually enjoy sessions with me.
I’m a true expert - if it’s biology, I’ve taught it many times, and I can explain it clearly 5 different ways until it clicks.
I love helping students who:
want to raise their grade or prep for the AP exam
want to build confidence and feel less “lost”
are curious and want to dive deeper into science
are strong students who want a true academic mentor
If you have a student who needs support or wants to excel in biology, I’d love to help.
Feel free to message me with questions - I can typically start immediately.
Let’s make biology make sense - and even make it fun!
