Hi there!

My name is Kimberley, and I'm a British singer/songwriter, and I love teaching young people about this amazing industry! I offer songwriting, singing and piano lessons, as well as writing and composition. My first rule is that there isn't any! Each student is unique and different, and my goal is to teach in a way that's fun and interesting and keeps people engaged.

Hi there!

My name is Kimberley, and I'm a British singer/songwriter, and I love teaching young people about this amazing industry! I offer songwriting, singing and piano lessons, as well as writing and composition. My first rule is that there isn't any! Each student is unique and different, and my goal is to teach in a way that's fun and interesting and keeps people engaged.

I teach all ages, young and old, novice to experienced, and take great joy in meeting new people and getting to know them and helping them learn.

I teach at your home or we can sit outside in my apartment by the pool, we can even go to a park and sit in the sunshine! I'm really flexible and want this to work for you at your own pace to help you reach your own goals.

I've written and had a book published in the UK, and I've also been a column writer for a national newspaper in the UK. I got my A-Levels (undergraduate equivalent) at one of England's most prestigious colleges, and was extremely lucky that I had scholarships to a number of top private schools in the UK. I have always been an active and prolific writer and love reading and encouraging others to write and share their own voice.

I received one of the highest marks ever in the country for Grade 8 piano when I was 14 years old and I haven't looked back! I've performed all over the world as a singer, and have always incorporated my piano as much as I can. I have had a joint number one in the UK, as well as other singles in the charts and have done arena tours throughout the UK and Europe. I have masses of performance experience and a lot of industry contacts as well.

I have had a book published in the UK and written for a major national newspaper. I went to college in the UK (at a place that looks like Hogwarts!) and received A in English Literature (as well as music, theatre and geography). I have always had a huge passion for literature and reading, and have also coached people on public speaking and performance: My lessons are fun and informative, and I tailor each lesson to each child whilst complimenting the curriculum at their school. I place equal focus on Shakespeare and classics and new authors as well, with informed and lively discussion.
Piano

Piano

I have been playing piano since I was 6 years old and I was awarded one of the highest marks in Grade 8 piano in the country when I was 14, (142 out of 150) and won lots of awards in national competitions. I stopped competing when I was 18, but I have performed all over the world as a musician and singer. My methods vary from person to person as I like to find out their individual goals and go from there, but I usually take the first lesson to get to know them and find out their strengths and weaknesses, and work on a lesson plan that helps them as well as having fun. I teach up to intermediate level piano - for more experienced players I happily recommend others as I'm happiest teaching young children the basics and getting them great technique. I teach classical piano - starting with scales and technique for the first 1/2 hr and then for the last 30mins moving onto a piece of music.

Sight Singing

Sight Singing

I have been singing since I was 10 years old and since then I have performed in arena tours and festivals around the world. Sight singing can be extremely difficult to master, however it's a skill that anyone hoping to work in the music industry must have! Being able to learn a song in a few minutes and pick up a chorus or a melody without having never heard it before is vital to being selected for jobs and castings. Having acquired this skill at a young age, with the right guidance I can show how to perfect and confidently perform a previously unknown track. My methods vary from person to person as I like to find out their individual goals and go from there, but I usually take the first lesson to get to know them and find out their strengths and weaknesses, and work on a lesson plan that helps them as well as having fun.
Songwriting

I have been singing since I was 10 years old and have written and co-written hundreds of songs, for myself and for other artists, including Eurovision entries and charting tracks. I am currently on my second album, having gained a fantastic social media following of over 150,000 and have charted twice in the UK singles charts. I've taught a lot of young people in the UK since 2010 and since songwriting I believe is vital to being taken seriously as an artist, I wouldn't be in the position I am today without great guidance! My methods vary from person to person as I like to find out their individual goals and go from there, but I usually take the first lesson to get to know them and find out their strengths and weaknesses, and work on a lesson plan that helps them as well as having fun. Songwriting is an art like no other, and I teach everyone, young, old, singers and non-singers! You don't have to be a great singer to be a great songwriter, and some of the best lyricists in the world are totally tone-deaf! It's all about finding your own personal preference and the style of music you like to write in.

I have been singing since I was 10 years old and since I started professionally at 14, I've performed in over 15 different countries around the world and done arena tours and festivals. Vocal training is extremely important for a singer, even the most experienced artists have vocal coaches their entire lives. I've been teaching young people to sing since 2010 and I'm very keen to continue to see them all grow as artists! My methods vary from person to person as I like to find out their individual goals and go from there, but I usually take the first lesson to get to know them and find out their strengths and weaknesses, and work on a lesson plan that helps them as well as having fun.
Writing

Writing

I've had a book published and have written for a multi-national newspaper. I also got A grades right up until I finished college with English and Creative Writing. My style of teaching is very relaxed and informal, I want students to feel they can be equals with me, and gain confidence and be proud of their work. I set homework but I also encourage students to get creative in their own time and to show initiative! The most rewarding thing is that with writing, you can nowadays find so many outlets for your work - the sky's the limit!

Fantastic teacher, so kind and informative!

Kimberley E. was so sweet and full of meaningful tips that strengthened my piano and songwriting skills. Her lesson was relevant and fun, I was never passionate about music theory (over the years I've taken a more free spirited approach to creating music, by ear) and somehow I was engaged and the time flew. She goes above and beyond to help her students, she is helping me find the most helpful books for my goals as well as learning material to keep me engaged. Great teacher!
