Hi! I'm Harmony. I have been tutoring since my days at Phillips Exeter Academy, and I hold a chemistry and French degree from UC Berkeley. Students get so much more than subject learning with me. Hi! I'm Harmony. I have been tutoring since my days at Phillips Exeter Academy, and I hold a chemistry and French degree from UC Berkeley. Students get so much more than subject learning with me. Yes, their grades often end up in the A range, no matter how low they started. But even better, they learn to appreciate themselves, because my perceptiveness and intuition help identify why they’re struggling to begin with.
I approach students from the perspective that it’s actually pretty challenging to be a kid in today’s society, despite all our privileges; there is a lot that’s confusing and painful, and I address that in our sessions so that students can become happier, more well-rounded and identify their strengths and passions. My students go on to lead engaged lives where they shine. I value life purpose, I model it for my students, and I help them along the path, encouraging them instead of fighting their natural instincts. I was also a curriculum writer at Kaplan Test Prep, where I developed materials for the MCAT, SAT, LSAT, GMAT, GRE and state exams. I co-authored MCAT 45 for Simon and Schuster, a medical school entrance exam prep book.
When students work with me, they get results!

My Facebook feed is full of people who hate math. My joy in life is to make math fun for others! Math is part of life - learn to love it with me!
Chemistry basically explains everything about the world around us. Why does soap work? Why does ginger ale settle your stomach? Why does chlorine kill germs in the pool? Why are some things flammable and not others? The answers to all these questions are found in chemistry. I love helping students understand through real-world, fun examples!
