I previously served in a Counseling and Guidance program that helped undergraduate students navigate the college environment at Cal State University San Bernardino. In 2012, I was given the "Outstanding Student Leader" award which is considered the highest leadership distinction a single student can receive at the 18,000 student campus. Over my college career I was President of five student organizations where a large part of those roles directly involved counseling students. Additionally, I was a volunteer at the local Congressional Office and made numerous visits to local High School classrooms advising them on the many opportunities that exist at the university level.

I completed advanced academic studies covering the History of Europe from ancient times to the modern era. I've also made academic visits to a leading European university, the London School of Economics, to expand my historical knowledge.
