I'm a tutor, teaching artist, writer, editor, and former NYC high school English teacher with over 10 years of experience working with students in the classroom and one-on-one. I hold an MA in English and Theater Education from NYU and a BA in Performance Studies from Northwestern.

I love working with students, and I have a special passion for coaching teen writers (on college admission essays and creative/persuasive/expository projects) and helping readers unlock Shakespeare. I warmly and collaboratively guide students though the writing process, from brainstorming and crafting to editing for flow, grammar, and personal voice. And I enjoy helping students make meaning from challenging works of literature - I think gaining academic confidence by mastering tough texts like Shakespeare is key to future success in school and life.

I excel at working with both struggling students who need the tools to feel confident expressing their ideas and advanced writers who want to take their work to the next level. My background as an artist and educator allow me to help with both the nitty-gritty academic skills and getting students to tap into their creative potential. I believe in providing all students with reliable methods for approaching any task while also identifying and addressing their unique strengths and challenges. My favorite part of this work is connecting with my students, creating an individualized approach tailored to them, and making them feel empowered and supported.
