About Daniel

Bio

I was educated in Scotland and received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Italy.

I have taught High School in Hawaii, where I was employed by the State of Hawaii Department of Education, as well as the University of Hawaii-Hilo.

I have always established a good relationship with individuals from a variety of cultures, and my teaching style is informal but structured: My international education and experience has helped me to be very open to individuals from other cultures and background....

I have more than 15 years experience of working with both adults and adolescents with ADD/ADHD, and have worked under the supervision of a Board-certified psychiatrist and psychologist throughout that time. My professional experience has also included working with individuals who are dually-diagnosed (co-morbidity), normally dealing with chemical dependency and other diagnoses, including both ADD and ADHD.

For over 20 years, I have counseled and worked with both adolescents and adults who have been dualy-diagnosed (co-morbidity). I have worked under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified psychiatrist who is qualified to make such diagnoses. I have a Master's degree in divinity (including psychology), and I am a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) which certification assesses the ability to work with individuals who have one or more disabilities. I have completed classes and training in all of the above disciplines.

I see Daniel regularly to improve my speech, vocabulary, and grammar on the level of intermediate. He is extremely patient and able to read you (your English level and skills) instantly - and get you to the right path in the very same hour.

Great professor.

Daniel is an amazing person and teacher. He was always on time. He likes to do research and bring material to work with. he has a lot of patience, he knows your weaknesses and works on them, I had my citizenship interview and I contacted him to practice the civic questions and to improve my speaking and writing, he really helped me a lot. He gave me confidence in myself. I’m a nervous person and I wasn’t comfortable with my English but with his classes I can see that my English is better, I recommend him 100%. And of course I passed my citizenship interview :). I Definitely going to hire him again to help me with my English 101 class in summer!

Gentle and Patient ESL/English Tutor!

My 14-year-old son started studying with Daniel on reading, vocabs and writing. My son meets him twice a week and Dec. will be our 3rd full month since we met him. My teen son likes Daniel very much, who is always patient and kind enough to help him improve his English. I can tell my son is already mush less shy speaking in English and feels confident studying a new language thanks to Daniel's help and encouragement. As a mom, I am grateful that my son met such a great 1st tutor at the new town. Daniel is a great teacher and of course, I strongly recommend if someone is looking for a tutor who is always polite, honest, and reliable even if mom's away for work!
