Knowledgable and supportive tutor

We began by playing a game so that Atousa could identify what I need to work on. She also asked be what I was looking to get out of the lesson, so that she could tailor it to my interests. She has a way of explaining concepts that is both insightful and easy to follow. I also appreciated that she helped me strategize a study plan between lessons. I had an excellent experience with her.

Best Chess Coach ever

Atousa is excellent as a chess coach. After the first session with her, my 14 year old son decided to go with her. There are many chess coaches out there, but majority of them has a lower rating than my son and not as knowledgeable as my son expected. We have been having lessons for 6 months now. She is kind and very patient. She is very knowledgeable in various openings, middle and end games, and tactics. Whenever my son has a question, she always has the answer for him. They analyze the game/tournament my son had and discuss how to improve his chess skills. I would definitely recommend her as a chess coach.

Very helpful!

I began chess around this month and the lessons were very helpful. I was taught some basics and some opening theories, and we eventually analyzed some of my games from the past. She taught me what I did wrong, what I could do to improve, and how to win certain endgames, and I’ve noticed my games beginning to improve as I began to play more games afterward. All of my questions from before were answered, and I am very happy with what I learn each lesson.

Don't miss out on a seriously great tutor!

If you're still searching for a chess tutor, stop searching and request lessons from Atousa. As an adult trying to learn quickly, I think it's important to find the right tutor in order to improve as efficiently as possible and so I've taken lessons from a few different tutors. Atousa has been the tutor that I've learned from the most. She an immense knowledge of the game and understands how to get the most out of her students. Atousa brings structure to the learning environment and challenges you to learn during the lesson. These are things that I hadn't necessarily experienced with other tutors. In our first lesson, she completed an assessment, made recommendations for improvement, went over some chess principles, and addressed questions I had about the French defense. In our next lesson, she challenged me (in a good way). At first, I was expecting for her to give me the answers. She did not. She tested my knowledge and forced me to think through the process to calculate lines of play. As painful as it was, the exercise was an effective way to reinforce concepts. I plan to continue to with lessons Atousa and if you're looking for someone to help with your chess game, I'd highly recommend you sign up if she has availability.

Excellent instruction

I am an adult chess player with knowledge of the rules, some time spent on self learning, but little formal instruction. I was a bit nervous about taking a lesson. Atousa put me at ease immediately. She was calm, patient, and provided very good instruction. She assessed my skills by playing a game with me (which was amazing). She then gave clear and concrete feedback about the strengths and weaknesses I had, and reviewed specific areas to improve. Already I see a difference in my game. In reviewing king opposition in a king pawn endgame, for example, I was able to draw a game I would have likely otherwise lost. Extremely knowledgeable with excellent communication skills, I highly recommend her.
