The importance of connecting kids to any new perspective, that they may have not previously had the chance to, could and does entirely affect the way of the world, in the most positive way. My passion for music, as well as my interest in working with enthusiastic kids, lead me to this decision to apply to be a tutor.
My experiences working in the music industry in Los Angeles, along with previous teaching and volunteering in inner-city music programs in New Bedford, MA will serve as my guide for this opportunity. As you can see in my resume, the Citizen Schools program allowed me to work with undeserved students and coordinate an event for their musical production. Students came to me with no musical experience and were taught in a group setting. This gave me the opportunity to work with multiple personalities and various age groups. Previously and throughout my time at Berklee, I held private drum lessons for students at a local music store and out of my studio. During my time in Los Angeles I was fortunate enough to have a steady job at Right Bank Music. My time at the studio not only consisted of daily editing and mixing, but working outside the studio as well. I supervised and coordinated productions for any in-house artist. All these experiences have taught me the understanding of multi tasking, managing projects, and time management.
Through working with extreme attention to detail, not only working hard but smart, dedication and my love for building solid relationships is what has led me to success in almost everything I've done. I'm extremely grateful for the people I've met and projects I've accomplished along the way. Boston is my home and I will always have a passion for its youth and future. This is not only a career shift for me but a shift to bring together all the skills I've acquired through my various past positions in and out of the music industry.
