I received my PhD in Biostatistics with specialty in Epidemiology, Health Policy Management, and Food Studies. I have been using SAS for 10+ years and have consulting/tutoring experience for 10+ years. I am passionate to help you with all your statistical related research projects, and with reviewing/helping the statistical section, other parts as well, in your published articles, thesis, or dissertation. It's a great treasure to know how statistics are taught differently at different places. I am very glad to help my students not only on their immediate needs of homework or project problems but also the deep understanding of statistical reasoning of interpretation. The ultimate goal is you can use statistics freely in your research and daily life.

I am very happy to help you with your statistics needs. I have tutored students from SMC, LMU, Pepperdine University, USC, University of California (Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Irvine, etc) and California State Universities at different levels of statistical courses. In my experience, distance is not a problem at all. For those students who are located outside of Los Angeles, with the help of Skype, Google hangout, phone conversation, etc, we have the sessions very well on solving their statistical needs and answering all their questions. Again, your session will be unique and will be customized based on your needs and your level of statistical knowledge.

I have assisted many students about the software, such as SPSS, SAS, STATA, R, and Excels on medical and business related research. I am also familiar with a lot of other software, such as TreeAge, Inkscape, TI-84e calculator, etc. I have provided statistical consulting service to many of my students on their research project, thesis/dissertation, and work related projects.

Yan is our superhero!

It has taken me a while to sit down to prepare this review, which is regretful; But perhaps due to the nature of Yan's impact upon our family and my own busy, hectic personal life, I wanted to provide a very thoughtful review for the well deserving Yan who has changed all of our lives for the better. Spring 2015, Yan provided tutoring in Statistics for my daughter during an especially challenging period of her life. This was also especially difficult as my daughter awaited college transfer acceptances. Yan provided tutoring in our home, at a nearby coffee shop and at UCLA where she is also a TA for graduate students. She was clear in her explanations and very meticulous about follow-up with my daughter. She was also willing to be very flexible given our time restraint by being willing to provide online tutoring as well. Her sincere desire for my daughter's success for every exam was clearly evident. In addition to being a strong motivator, with her friendly demeanor, she was also a confidence builder for my daughter while achieving a special connection with her. She provided invaluable advice for college acceptance, college major consideration, as well as career decision making. Yan has a balanced approach in that she urged my daughter to focus better on time management (work more quickly) as she would likely be transitioning to a quarter system from the then semester system at the junior college she attended. Yan's advice has proven "right on target", as my daughter is doing very well in all of her coursework. From our perspective, Yan is a superhero! My daughter will graduate this June, 2016, from UCLA!
