I've previously worked as a Physics, Math, and Statistics tutor for the University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez, and for Cal State LA. I'm currently teaching Introductory Physics courses at Cal State LA. A reasonable amount of my teaching experience has been tutoring for Undergraduate, Graduate, and High School level Math and Physics courses. I also have plenty of experience tutoring for all other subject areas and grade levels, and particularly with science courses.

I've also taught and tutored multiple subjects in Spanish, since I know Spanish-Language terminology used in science and math. I'm familiar with the vocabulary and grammar of different dialects of Spanish, in addition to the grammatical nuances of Spanish spoken in the Caribbean. I've had 12 years of Spanish classes, in addition to a year of Spanish Literature as part of my undergraduate degree. I have served as editor and proofreader of a published collection of poems and stories in Spanish and English (that also featured some of my works), and I've also written a chapter on a published book about Puerto Rican musical culture.
Statistics,

Statistics

I have 12 years of experience as a probability and statistics tutor. I've tutored from AP Statistics, all the way to masters (MBA, MPH, MS) and doctoral level (DNP, PhD, PsyD) courses. My experience teaching college-level statistics include courses for students in business, the social sciences, biological sciences, engineering, math, and the physical sciences. Accuplacer

I have more than 15 years of experience preparing college students for their math, reading, and writing placement tests, such as the College Board's Accuplacer and the ACT's Compass. My first session involves a diagnostic test, in order to determine the student's weak areas and design a lesson plan that works best for the student, usually no more than 2 additional sessions. I then proceed to fill in gaps related to the subject areas, drawing from my experience as a teacher and tutor. I also teach test-taking strategies and try to build student confidence, drawing from my experience both as a test taker and a test prep tutor.

Highly knowledgeable in AP Physics and Chemistry

We have great experiences with Yese. He first taught my daughter AP physics and was able to review and tutor her and got her caught up in her AP exam… ended up with a passing grade. Supper happy. He is now teaching my son AP physics, we trust that my son will receive the same benefits as well. He is committed, patient and helpful in helping out with questions you have. Such an incredible being with a kind personality. We will definitely recommend him to anyone who needs help in physics and chemistry.

Great Tutor!

Yese was really able to help me out with understanding the topics/concepts that I needed in Linear Algebra. He was also willing to meet up on short notice to help me prep for a linear algebra final, which I’m super grateful for. Overall, he was very good at explaining and he was very patient and made sure that I understood everything. I would definitely recommend Yese.

Highly knowledgeable in AP Physics and Chemistry

Yese taught my so. Chemistry and review with him for his final exam. My son said he learned more in 3/4 sessions with him than the entire 1/2 of the school year. Thank you Yese for being flexible with your time and we truly appreciate you.

Highly knowledgeable in AP Physics and Chemistry

We reached out to Yese last minutes for AP Physics tutoring in preparation for the AP test. Yese was very understanding and accommodate my daughter’s schedules. My daughter went from a distraught and girl a few days before the test to a confident and satisfied student after the AP test. He then tutor my son in Pre AP Chemistry and he connected with my son well and he also was much confident after tutoring Yes… I fully recommend Yese

Knowledgeable

Yese is a great tutor. My daughter is starting to understand concepts that she didn't before. I use to struggle to get her to tutor, but now she wants to. I think having a great tutor and someone who can explains things easily is what she needed. We are very grateful we found Yese.

Great!

Super knowledgeable about very complex subjects. It’s difficult to explain quantum concepts sometimes, but I understand it the way he described everything to me. I’m much more confident about studying for my final now!

AMAZING physics 2 tutor with calculus

He was super helpful in explaining concepts and ideas I didn’t get in class and breaking every concept down as much as possible to help me identify where the gaps in my knowledge were. Also made me feel more confident solving problems. Highly recommend!
