I have almost 30 years of experience teaching and tutoring Math, Physics, Science and Statistics at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels. I am also a professional scientist and technology developer with several papers published in the technical literature and patents awarded and pending in the US and overseas. As an educator and scientist I have generated new knowledge, discovered novel ways to transmit this knowledge and applied it to real life both in the scientific, industrial and the educational settings.

During my lectures and tutoring sessions, I use every resource that is available to explain hard to grasp concepts. I use videos, textbooks, experiments, illustrations, demonstrations, real-life situations and computer programs and simulations. Throughout my career, not only I have been exposed to many of these resources but I have also created my own. I have:

- Performed experiments in the zero gravity environment of NASA's KC-135, the so-called "Vomit Comet", used to train astronauts. These experiments have helped me create new knowledge, understand better the phenomenon of weightlessness and put to rest many misconceptions that are taught about apparent weight.
- Reproduced the same low gravity environment, created in space, in a small aircraft providing an inexpensive platform to conduct research and to teach Science.
- Generated extensive lecture notes and, in the process, discovered ways to present a given subject from first principles minimizing the large number of equations that are required to memorize and illustrating how Science is really done.
- Worked with professional artists to create scientifically correct videos and illustrations for educational purposes: these resources make Science easier to understand and provide a visual reference for its concepts.
- Created my own experiments to clarify many problems found in a Science course including experiments related to apparent weight, action and reaction, what a scale really measures, light propagation and others.
- Used

Differential Equations

Having a Ph.D. degree in Physics and a second Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, I took several courses related to Differential Equations: both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These courses Calculus, Mathematical Methods of Physics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Finite Elements Analysis and many other Physics courses that require the use of differential equations such as Mechanics, Electromagnetic Theory, Quantum Mechanics and Statistical Physics. In my professional life I also worked on the solution of many types of differential equations, I taught undergraduate level courses that required their knowledge, published a paper correcting the solution of a differential equation of another author and picked up many mistakes in the technical literature, including books and papers, preventing these mistakes from propagating further in the literature.
Electrical Engineering,

Electrical Engineering

I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University. I worked at NASA Langley as a Scientist and Engineer developing new optical fiber sensors. I also work in the development of circuits for my sensors. I have more than 60 patents in 38 countries in this field.
Finite Math,

Finite Math

In my work I make extensive use of Finite Math techniques. I develop mathematical models for different Physical configuration, specially in the field of Optics. Through my mathematical derivations I discovered new useful configuration of optical devices and patented them. I also consistently, and carefully, undertake mathematical derivations in my classroom.

Knowledgeable, kind and patient tutor

I really liked that Claudio showed me step by step on how to solve a few linear programming exercises. He went out of his way to make a graph to show me the relevance of linear programming. Thank you Claudio

Knowledgeable Tutor

Claudio is immensely helpful and organized and is all in all a great tutor. He helped me understand concepts in my fields and waves class. Additionally, he provided notes and sent them to me after the session just in case I didn’t get to write everything down

Very knowleagable and easy to talk to!

I am enthusiastically recommending Claudio to other potential students. Claudio is my physics tutor for an introductory physics class. His background in physics is very strong and he has a very supportive and helpful approach to explaining the concepts. He assists my understanding by both explaining concepts and drawing pictures. He reinforced what I learned in the class and helped me understand it better. Thanks Claudio!

Great tutor!

He is very patient with his students and know his subjects well and especially on-time at your door! I would strongly recommended if you need in Physics and Math (all levels).
