American History

The history of USA is so much fun and so interesting. Let's read, draw, debate, understand, and accept its history as it is.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience working as a one-on-one Special Education Assistant in elementary school settings, as well as providing support in the home environment. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy working with children and find it to be deeply meaningful and rewarding work. I am confident in my ability to support students across all elementary-level subjects, whether in a school setting or at home. I would like to have the opportunity to help your child succeed. Thank you,
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I have helped teach math in Elementary school from K-5th grade as a room parent, and I enjoy reading and understanding the 'new styles" and additions that the curricula has each year, to maintain my skills up-to-date.
ESL/ESOL

ESL/ESOL

English is my second language. I know how hard it can be to understand changes in grammar and analytical thinking. Now I know enough English to teach others with patience.
GED

I had helped students to get prepared for GED testing in the past.

Handwriting

As a Preschool teacher, a Special Ed Educator and a Kindergarten teacher, I have guided students in handwriting. I taught children how to correctly grip pencils and pens in order to write smoothly. I explain why it is important to follow the steps when making a letter. We write, so others can read.

Public Speaking

In my experience with Public Speaking, I've led discussions in a Current Events group and a School Advisory group, incorporating guidance on public speaking skills. This guidance includes: Planning and organizing your message clearly and concisely. Write simple notes for yourself, if needed. Maintaining direct eye contact with your audience. Presenting short and clear slides, if applicable. Maintaining confident postures and gestures. Using a confident voice that includes pauses for emphasis.
Reading

Reading

Reading and writing will be next to our learning for the rest of our lives. English is my second language. I continue learning as I work with kids at every grade level, and I notice how some learn in a different way than others. In order to understand a lecture, we must read it well. Having influence of so many languages in English, it is important to be aware of phonics, grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. Let's practice together!
Spanish

Spanish

I am a native Spanish speaker. I have university training in how to teach in different approaches, grammatical, circumstantial, and conversational. Very knowledgeable and patient teacher of Spanish

Teresa has outstanding knowledge of the language of Spanish as it is her first language. She is also passionate and enthusiastic in her student teaching and is able to effectively explain the use of the language, paying careful attention to grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. She is also able to encourage the student to do the work on his or her own, without directly revealing answers to homework problems. I give this teacher an excellent rating and would recommend her to anyone who wants to master the reading, writing and speaking of the language of Spanish. Dr. R. Hofland, 28 January 2023
