Hi! I’m a Yale grad (magna cum laude) with 15+ years of tutoring experience in nearly every subject from elementary school through high school and including some college disciplines. I originally started as a Biomedical Engineer and so in high school was doubling up in sciences and took AP Chem, AP BC Calc, and a Biotechnology class. I ended up shifting to the humanities and was an American Studies major, so am very familiar with writing essays at a high level. I achieved a Distinction in my American Studies major and had an overall 3.92 GPA.
One of my specialties is working with students on standardized testing including the SAT, ACT, and SSAT. I scored a 2290 on the SAT (800 Math, 760 Reading, 730 Writing) in one try and I was accepted to my top schools including Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, and Brown University. I scored 800 on my SAT Math II Subject Test and 760 on my Chemistry Subject Test. I have helped many students (both independently and through tutoring companies like Achieve Tutorials and Kokoro Tutoring) to up their scores, while also emphasizing a well-rounded approach that helps the student become a more adept learner.
I also have a specialty in working with middle and high school students who are struggling and helping them gain confidence in their abilities. I’ve worked with students with Dyscalculia and taken them from failing to excelling in their math classes. I've also worked with students with organization and executive functioning issues and aid them in creating systems that set them up for success in their academic lives. I also am a professional TV writer / screenwriter (most recently having written on Season 2 of Going Dutch on Fox) so if anyone is looking for creative writing tutoring, I would love to do that.
