I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Middlebury College, where I developed a strong foundation in how people learn, think, and interact. In Fall 2020, I completed Statistical Psychology, learning the mathematical foundations of hypothesis testing, common statistical tests, and data visualization. In Spring 2021, I completed Cognitive Psychology, studying attention, perception, memory, and executive function. In Spring 2022, I completed Social Psychology, exploring social perception, stereotyping and prejudice, persuasion, and social influence.

My teaching experience developed through four years of assignment-based college presentations to primarily fellow students ages 18-22. On April 22, 2022, I presented on altered states of consciousness during my college symposium. In Spring 2023, I presented on systemic racial stressors as part of my Psychological Resilience course. These experiences required me to explain complex psychological concepts clearly and make material accessible to students with different levels of familiarity. Rather than simply lecturing, I used open discussion and guided questioning to encourage students to work through ideas themselves. Listening to questions helped me identify confusion and adjust my explanations in real time.

This experience shaped my approach to tutoring. I believe effective tutoring goes beyond completing an assignment or reaching the correct answer; it should build confidence, critical thinking, and genuine understanding. I meet students where they are academically and adapt my explanations to their needs, learning style, and goals. My objective is not only to help students understand today's material, but also to strengthen their ability to approach difficult material independently.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Middlebury College, where completing my degree required a strong foundation in algebra and quantitative reasoning. My psychology coursework required me to apply algebraic concepts to statistics, research methods, data analysis, and quantitative problem-solving. I am comfortable with foundational Algebra 1 topics including equations, expressions, functions, graphing, exponents, and factoring. When tutoring, I break problems into manageable steps and focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind each solution rather than simply memorizing procedures.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I will assist your student in navigating the college admissions process using my personal experience and training. I have 100+ hours of experience writing four biographical profiles, seven personal statements, and 10+ supplemental essays, and I have firsthand experience with the Common Application, UC Application, Coalition Application, and QuestBridge, having gained admission to Middlebury College, Fordham University, Wake Forest University, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, the University of Portland, and Northern Arizona University in 2018. In 2026, I also completed 11 hours of College Board counselor training covering college searches and applications, college affordability, and appropriate SAT and AP resources. My approach will include using colleges’ Common Data Sets to assess admission competitiveness, helping students tailor their essays to highlight their academic interests and potential contributions, and guiding them in selecting the best references optimize their chances at being admitted to their dream school.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Middlebury College, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning through coursework in psychological statistics and research methods. Completing a psychology degree requires a solid understanding of foundational/elementary mathematics, including fractions, pre-algebra. My coursework gave me experience applying these skills to my own coursework. I bring this applied experience to tutoring, to help students understand not only how to solve mathematical and statistics problems, but why the methods work.

Psychology

I hold a B.A. in Psychology, with a strong academic background in areas including social psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, personality, and learning. My coursework has given me a broad understanding of psychological theories, research methods, human behavior, and major psychological concepts. I enjoy breaking down complex material into clear, understandable explanations and helping students connect theories to real-world examples. I can help students strengthen their understanding of introductory and general psychology while developing effective study and test-taking strategies.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I am well suited to tutor SAT Math because I have a strong foundation in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and quantitative problem-solving. My college coursework required me to apply mathematical concepts to unfamiliar problems and work through them systematically.
