I tutor Math, English, and U.S. History and have worked with students of different ages and ability levels, helping them understand challenging material, prepare for exams, complete assignments, and build confidence.
My tutoring approach is personalized and focused on genuine understanding rather than memorization. I first identify where a student is struggling and then adapt my explanations and practice to their individual learning style. In Math, I focus on understanding the reasoning behind each step and developing reliable problem-solving strategies. In English, I help with reading comprehension, grammar, essay organization, argument development, and writing clarity. For U.S. History, I focus on connecting major events, understanding cause and effect, identifying important themes, and developing strong approaches to historical questions and essays. My experience with both one-on-one and online tutoring has taught me how to communicate clearly and keep students engaged in either setting.
I believe succeeding in a difficult class requires more than simply knowing the material. Students also need to know how to study, approach unfamiliar questions, manage their time, and understand what an exam or teacher is asking. My goal is to improve grades and test performance while helping students develop the skills and confidence to eventually work through challenging material independently. Whether a student needs help with an assignment, is preparing for an exam, or wants ongoing support, I will tailor each session to their individual goals.
