I hold a Bachelor’s degree in History, a Master’s degree in Educational Studies with a focus on Digital Learning from Loyola Marymount University, and a California Teaching Credential in Social Science with an English Learner Authorization. I have professional teaching experience primarily focused on high school U.S. History, including Honors-level courses. Through my teaching experience, I have developed a strong background in history, social studies, reading comprehension, writing, research, essay development, and study skills.
As a teacher, I have worked with students with a wide range of academic abilities and learning needs. I regularly provide individualized support by identifying areas where students are struggling, breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps, and adapting my approach based on how each student learns best. I have experience supporting students with IEPs and 504 plans and use strategies such as guided practice, visual organizers, discussion, examples, and writing support to help students build understanding and confidence.
I am particularly qualified to tutor history and social studies, as well as reading, writing, essay development, and general study skills. My goal as a tutor is not simply to help students complete an assignment, but to help them understand the material, develop effective academic strategies, and become more confident and independent learners.
