Completing my MA in History and BA in History with Honors created the groundwork for me to pursue my PhD In History at the University of California, Los Angeles. I taught middle schoolers and high schoolers at a high school for a period of 1 year after my undergraduate degree. Notably, I have developed deep historical skills and pedagogy experience through my career and qualifications.
I use a visual pedagogical method in the classroom, whether it be online or offline. This includes extensive use of the whiteboard and blackboard to create conceptual maps to nourish student understanding and conceptual clarity. My teaching style also invokes the use of powerpoint presentations and multimedia in order to broaden my student's scope. I have also been involved in college application counseling.
My teaching has mainly been in the classroom setting involving students in the age ranges from 9-15 years of age. I have taught for one year from 2022-2023, and then proceeded to pursue my Master's in History. My classroom sizes were particularly small, rarely crossing over 10-15 students and this enabled me to often engage with students individually in the classroom context. Based on my teaching experience and educational qualifications, I think I would be an ideal tutor for college applications and tuitions on a variety of historical topics.
