I am a scientist with a B.S. in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University and an M.S. in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine from the Keck School of Medicine at USC. Professionally, I have spent several years working in cell and gene therapy at leading biotechnology companies, where I have contributed to the development and characterization of CAR-T cell therapies. My experience includes cell culture, molecular biology, flow cytometry, ddPCR, cytokine analysis, and assay development, allowing me to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications in biotechnology and biomedical research.
My passion for teaching began during my undergraduate studies, where I served as a Teacher's Assistant for General Chemistry. In this role, I helped students understand challenging concepts, reinforced course material, and supported their success both inside and outside the classroom. Since then, I have continued to develop my teaching and mentoring skills through my professional career, training new team members, mentoring junior scientists, and helping colleagues navigate complex biological concepts and laboratory techniques. Additionally, since 2019, I have volunteered as a youth basketball coach, working with students ages 5 to 13 and learning how to adapt my coaching style to different personalities, learning styles, and skill levels.
I specialize in biology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, and biotechnology. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of the material. Whether you are preparing for an exam, working through a difficult course, learning how to interpret scientific literature, or exploring a future career in science or biotechnology, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals. I look forward to helping you succeed and discover that even the most challenging scientific concepts can become approachable with the right guidance.
