My tutoring experience spans several years and a variety of settings. Through Math Yogis, a tutoring company based in Los Angeles, I worked directly with high school students to prepare them for standardized testing and AP exams, specifically focusing on Algebra 2 and AP Statistics in preparation for the SBAC and AP exam cycles. In a separate volunteer capacity, I served as a tutor and mentor at the Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center in Inglewood from September 2023 to January 2025, providing weekly one-on-one and small group tutoring for K-12 students in subjects ranging from reading comprehension to advanced calculus, geometry, and algebra. Beyond content instruction, I co-facilitated a mentoring program called "Boys to Men," where I led workshops focused on study techniques, accountability, and personal development.
In college, I support students academically by organizing professional development workshops and providing resume coaching. My tutoring approach emphasizes meeting students where they are, building conceptual understanding before procedural fluency, and keeping sessions structured but conversational, whether working one-on-one or in a group setting.
