I am a first year student at the University of California, San Diego majoring in Biological Anthropology with a minor in Psychology. My educational experience provides me with a deep passion and understanding for human development and the cognitive processes involved in learning. This foundation allows me to approach subjects like English and Math as tools for succeeding in the real world. My path toward becoming a pediatric nurse further fuels my commitment to educational support, as I view education as essential to a child's growth and well being.

My experience includes work at a non profit organization where I specialized in one on one sessions with elementary aged children. During this time, I focused on core subjects such as reading, writing, social sciences, and math, while also providing preparation for the ISEE. Since I worked individually with each student, I was able to cultivate an environment where they felt heard and eager to engage. Additionally, I took an active role in helping to manage their daily school work.

I describe my pedagogical approach as an independent yet supportive teaching style. I firmly believe that most students possess the capability to succeed and simply require the right direction and confidence to unlock their potential. By providing a structured framework and then encouraging the student to navigate problems on their own, I strive to provide students with all the resources they need to succeed. In doing this, I help them build the critical thinking skills necessary for long term self sufficiency. This method ensures that students stay on track and become more confident in their abilities to thrive in an academic environment.
