I'm a 4th grade science and social studies teacher in my third year at a private school in South Florida. I hold a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from USC with a minor in Education, which gives me a strong foundation in both the technical subjects I tutor and the pedagogy behind how students actually learn.

In the classroom, I teach three rotating sections of students across science and social studies in 90-minute blocks. My science curriculum covers physical science, life science, and earth science, and my social studies curriculum runs through Florida history, civics, and geography. I also run after-school tutoring sessions separately. Outside the classroom, I've tutored students ranging from 2nd grade through college level in math, science, social studies, and Spanish. I'm fully bilingual in English and Spanish and comfortable tutoring in either language.

My approach is built around understanding, not memorization. I focus on helping students build mental models of how concepts connect, so they can reason through new problems instead of just recalling answers. With younger students, that means using hands-on examples, real-world scenarios, and lots of guided questioning to help them arrive at understanding on their own. With older students, I bring a more analytical approach, breaking complex problems into systems and helping them see the structure underneath. I'm patient, I'm direct, and I genuinely enjoy the moment when something clicks for a student. Whether it's long division or thermodynamics, my goal is always the same: help the student think, not just perform.

Approved Subjects

Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I currently teach 4th grade science and social studies at a private school in South Florida, where I design and deliver instruction across three class sections daily. My degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from USC, paired with my education minor, gives me a strong grasp of both content and how to teach it effectively to young learners. I've tutored students from 2nd grade through 6th in math, science, social studies, and Spanish, and I'm fully bilingual. I focus on building real understanding through hands-on examples and guided questioning rather than memorization and test prep.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I scored a perfect 800 on SAT Math myself, so I know the test from the inside. I’ve tutored students for the digital SAT for over a year, mostly in Math and Reading, working through official Bluebook practice tests and building real Desmos fluency. My focus isn’t just content, it’s the strategy that actually moves scores: pacing, when to graph versus when to do the algebra, and reading questions the right way under time pressure. I help students get the points they’re leaving on the table, not just relearn math they already know.
Social Studies

Social Studies

I teach Social Studies to fourth graders and tutor it at the high school level, so I can work across a wide range of ages and material. My focus is on getting students to take a position and back it with evidence, not just memorize names and dates. I have an engineering background, so I tend to show how events connect instead of treating them as facts to cram. I’ll figure out what’s actually tripping a student up and work from there.
Spanish

Spanish

Spanish and English are both my first languages, in equal parts. I was born in Colombia and have lived in the U.S. since I was two, so I move between the two naturally and can teach Spanish from everyday conversation to grammar and writing. As a classroom teacher, I’m used to breaking concepts down for different ages and finding the angle that makes something click for each student. Whether you want to build confidence speaking, shore up grammar for a class, or just sound more natural, I’ll meet you where you are.
