I am currently a third-year medical student in the Charles R. Drew/UCLA Medical Education Program, earning my M.D. at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles, with an expected graduation in 2028 as I am concurrently pursuing a Master of Public Health. I earned my B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside and have additional training through a pre-health professional certificate program. My academic journey and clinical research experience in obesity and chronic disease management have given me a strong understanding of how to build a competitive medical school application.
I have several years of teaching experience across classroom and community settings. I previously worked as a substitute teacher for high school math and science courses, managing groups of 30–35 students, and spent over five years as a diabetes health educator leading structured sessions on nutrition, exercise, and chronic disease management. I have also facilitated small group and one-on-one learning in both English and Spanish, often working with diverse student populations. My teaching style focuses on simplifying complex topics and tailoring guidance to each student’s goals.
I also have years of experience mentoring pre-medical students through the application process. I have worked with dozens of students across California, helping them with application strategy, personal statements, extracurricular development, and interview preparation. I support students at all stages, from early planning to final application review. My goal is to provide clear, practical guidance while helping students build confidence and leave each session with actionable next steps.
