I am currently a third-year undergraduate student majoring in neuroscience with a minor in global health. My academic background has strengthened my analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in areas such as algebra, statistics, and logical reasoning. I enjoy helping students break down complex math problems into clear, manageable steps so that the material feels approachable and less intimidating. My goal as a tutor is to build both confidence and strong foundational understanding in students.
I previously tutored elementary school students at a Sunday math enrichment program, where I worked with small groups and individual learners to reinforce core math concepts such as arithmetic, problem solving, and early algebraic thinking. Through this experience, I developed a patient and encouraging teaching style focused on guiding students step by step and adapting explanations to match each student’s learning pace. I enjoy helping younger students develop confidence in math early on so they feel more prepared as they progress through school.
In addition, I have experience teaching English online to non-native speakers, which strengthened my ability to communicate clearly and adapt lessons for different learning styles. These experiences have helped me effectively support students from elementary through high school in subjects such as pre-algebra, algebra, and general math coursework, as well as help students prepare for SAT and ACT math sections by focusing on problem-solving strategies, time management, and core concept review.
