I’m Ryan B. I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in History. I am a National Merit Scholar and scored a 1580 on the SAT. I teach across all the core subjects, English, social studies, math and science. My passion resides in writing, both historical essays and creative projects, and providing actionable feedback to those I work with. I can help craft college application essays, refine and edit papers, as well as help find your personal writing style.

I have experience volunteering in the writing center at USC, helping students better articulate their arguments in academic papers through a collaborative process that does not overtake their original ideas. I have also tutored elementary and middle school students in my neighborhood in the areas of history. They were studying, how to improve their clarity in writing and breaking down math and science concepts into simple lessons. Depending on the topics, I develop lesson plans that outline the learning objectives and take time to go through the learning process together.

In my experience tutoring, I made it my responsibility to create a supportive and trusting environment that lends itself to greater focus. My goal is to make learning fun and personal by working through any blockages. I create a unique and specialized approach to each student, meeting their current needs. From high schoolers studying for standardized tests to elementary schoolers who need extra help in their lessons, I am adaptable and suited for any task that is needed of me.
